June is dairy month. Since we live in the Dairy State, it’s your patriotic duty to consume as much dairy as possible. Sure, you can pour skim milk over your breakfast cereal and enjoy plain Greek yogurt with fruit after lunch. But we prefer to celebrate Dairy Month in the most delicious way – and that means eating ice cream! And we’re pretty sure whipped cream is also a dairy product, so go ahead and make this sundae.

History The Washington Park Velodrome is hosting bike races tonight. Registration for Stock Bike Races (open to everyone, from 3 years old to adults) from 6 p.m., with races from 6.30 p.m. To run, bring your bike and a helmet. For more details, visit www.kenoshavelodrome.com.

Kenosha Public Library hosts Chess Night in Lincoln Park, 6900 18th Ave. The Kenosha Chess Association hosts games from 6-7:30 p.m. on Mondays in front of the park’s Oribiletti Center. All ages and abilities are welcome. Also: The library book truck will be parked nearby. You can register for a library card, borrow and return items, and sign up for the summer reading program.

Monday night music: Who said Monday night had to be depressing? Not the folks at Union Park Tavern. Start the working week with DJ, Ted Runnels and Trombone Dave. It almost makes Monday a day to look forward to…almost.
