The Crews Gap fire continues to burn near the Runnels/Coleman county line

UPDATE (3:11 PM): The Crews Gap Fire on the Coleman-Runnels County line has now burned 7,000 acres and is 70% contained, according to the Texas Forest Service.

A temporary flight restriction is in place for the area above the Crew Gap fire.

Local law enforcement is advising the public to avoid the area to provide a safe environment for aircraft.

(original story) COLEMAN, Texas – Multiple fire departments are responding to a grass fire near Runnels County near the Coleman County line, according to a statement from the Coleman County Sheriff‘s Office on Monday, March 14, 2022 .

According to the release, Glen County Fire, Talpa Fire, Novice Fire and the Coleman Fire Department are all on their way to help put out the grass fire, identified on the Texas Forest Service website as the Crews Fire. gap.

The Coleman County Sheriff’s Office says they have currently closed FM 2132. The public is urged to avoid the area at this time.
