Taylor County adds 4 cases Thursday, active cases below 100

The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District reported four new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, one of which was confirmed by polymerase chain reaction testing.

Active cases on Thursday totaled 95 (29 PCR tests and 66 antigens), compared to 106 reported on Wednesday and 179 the previous week. The last time active cases were below triple digits was July 9 with 99.

The percentage of hospitalized COVID-19 patients in Abilene’s 16-county trauma service area fell to 0.41% on Wednesday, from 0.43% on Tuesday and 0.44% on Monday, according to the COVID-19 Database. 19 from the Texas Department of State Health Services.

The Abilene Trauma Service Area had four patients hospitalized with COVID-19 on Wednesday, the same number reported on Tuesday. In the past 24 hours, there have been two admissions of COVID-19 in the area, according to the state database.
