Jeffrey Allan Sampson, 59, of Tamaroa, died at 11:04 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.

Jeffrey was born in Michigan City, Indiana on February 7, 1962, the son of Ellen Louise (Gordon) Manske and Garland Vincent. He worked as a carpenter and was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include her daughter, Kami (Christopher) Skelton of Jacksonville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Christopher Skelton Jr., Kyrah Skelton, Ka’miya Skelton and Carter Skelton; brothers Michael (Karen) Deeds of New Buffalo, Michigan, Gregory (Ruth) Runnels of Dowagiac, Michigan and Phillip Sampson of South Bend, Indiana; sister Beverly (James) Wunderlin of Michigan City, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and grand-nephews; and special caregivers Leeanna McCurdy and Kathy Sherlock of Tamaroa.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Tina Beyer.

Cremation rites will be granted by the Maxton-Rosado funeral home in Du Quoin. Interment will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo, Michigan at a later date.

In honor of Jeffrey’s veteran status, a retired American flag will accompany him at the cremation where the flag will serve as a final patriotic duty for this heroic veteran. The family will receive a sample of stars beautifully framed with this same flag.
