Runnels County Sheriff’s Office makes multiple arrests in 2 cases

The following are press releases from the Runnels County Sheriff’s Office.

Two people arrested for burglary and possession of a controlled substance

On December 7, 2021, the Runnels County Sheriff’s Office received reports that a wanted subject was living in an empty residence on Block 900 4th Street in Ballinger. The sheriff’s office has contacted the owner of the property in the DFW area. The owner has stated that there should be no one in the residence and has given permission to search the property.

Runnels County MPs, with the help of Ballinger’s PD, entered the residence and found the back door had been slammed in.

Bradley Wayne Horton and Amber Phelps were inside the residence. During a search of the home, a quantity of methamphetamine was also located.

Bradley Wayne Horton was arrested on the following charges.

Runnels County Exceptional Arrest Warrant for Bail Fixed at $ 2,000.00

Possession of a controlled substance PG1 1

Burglary of a residential deposit set at $ 10,000.00

Amber Phelps was arrested on the following charges.

Possession of a controlled substance PG1 1

Burglary of a residential deposit set at $ 10,000.00

Continuing narcotics investigation leads to more arrests

Continuation of our investigation into drug trafficking in Runnels County. On December 14, 2021, the Runnels County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 300 block of Strong Ave. at Ballinger.

There was a quantity of methamphetamine and other drug related paraphernalia inside the residence. The following people were placed under arrest.

Amber Phelps – Possession of a controlled substance pg1 1

Sergio Rangel – Possession of a controlled substance pg1 1

Gabriel Alfaro – Possession of a controlled substance pg1 1

Michael Martinez – Possession of a controlled substance pg1 1

Following the search warrant, we also interviewed several people at a residence on Block 200 of Strong Avenue in Ballinger. During this investigation, one person was arrested on the following charge.

René Flores – Illegal possession of a firearm by a criminal a 3rd degree felony – bail $ 7000.00
