Millennials are buying homes in Midland

Midland is the #1 small metro area where millennials are buying homes, according to a report from ConstructionCoverage.com.

The website, which helps builders and homeowners make decisions, says millennials in the Midland metro area accounted for 39.7% of homebuyer loans originally in 2020, compared to 29.7% nationally.

Midland was first, Odessa was second (39.6%), and Rochester, Minnesota (38.9%), Fargo, North Dakota-Minnesota (37.8%) and Binghamton, New York (36.9%), rounded out the first five.

As of 2014, millennials have made up the largest share of homebuyers in the United States,” according to ConstructionCoverage.com. “Due to limitations in data availability, the 25-34 age cohort was used to approximate millennials.

There were no Texas locations in the top 15 midsize or larger metropolitan areas.
