How to vote Tuesday in the York County municipal election in 2021

Dozens of candidates are up for election next week in York County.

Voters in York, Tega Cay, Fort Mill, Clover and other parts of the county will vote in various races for mayor, mayor and city council.

Postal voting for the municipal elections began on October 4. The last chance to vote by mail in person is 5 p.m. Nov. 1 at the York County Election Office, 6 S. Congress St. All mail-in ballots must be returned to the office by November 2 at 7 p.m.

Polling stations will open at 7 a.m. on Tuesday and close at 7 p.m. Voters can find information about constituency locations on the county elections office website.

Here are the candidates on the ballot. Holders are marked with an (i).

Tega Cay

Mayor – Chris Gray and Heather Overman

municipal Council

At-large (two seats to be filled) – Liz Duda, Christoph Halverson, Thomas Hyslip and Scott Shirley

York

municipal Council

Ward 1 – Steve Love (i) and Matthew Hickey

Ward 5 – Denise Lowry (i) and Charles Brewer

Ward 6 – Kellie Wine Harrold

Clover

municipal Council

Residents of Clover will vote to elect three candidates for a four-year term and one candidate to fill a vacant seat for a two-year term.

The candidates for one of the three four-year terms are Teresa Hurst (i), Tina Goodgame (i), Amy Moses, Bo Legg, Scott Shuler and Michael Walters.

The two-year term candidates are Brittany Farr and Kitisa McDowell.

Fort mill

Ward 3 – Sherita Watts and Ben Hudgins

In fgeneral – Matt Vilardebo and Chris Wolfe

A second round will take place on November 16 if necessary.
