Donald Robinson – Runnels County Register

Donald “Don” George Robinson, 82, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, July 8, 2022.

He was born on October 16, 1939 to George Sheppard and Gertrude Ellen (Damron) Robinson in Ballinger, Texas. On June 27, 1958, he married the love of his life Frances “Fran” Cleo Reynolds in Eldorado, TX, and recently celebrated 64 years together. He moved to Ft. Stockton in 1967 and worked for 9 years for Firestone as a test engineer. In 1976, he began a career in oil field maintenance and construction supervision for Creole, Stewart & Stevenson and GE. He spent 20 years working abroad all over the world, in countries like Zaire, Nigeria and the Dominican Republic. For many years he worked as a Resident Manager in China and Egypt and took Fran with him to enjoy the trip. Don was a member of the Church of Christ, the Lion’s Club and Elks Lodge. He especially enjoyed camping and boating on nearby lakes with his family and friends.

He is predeceased by his parents Shep and Gert Robinson, and his sisters Wanda Robinson Davis and Janell Robinson Caulder.

Don is survived by his wife, Fran, his daughter Sherlene Bagley of Arlington, his son Kerry Don Robinson of Midland, his grandchildren Wesley Robinson and his wife Chrissie of Midland, Ronny Robinson and his wife Katie also of Midland and, Claire and Chloe Bagley of Arlington, TX, along with her great-grandchildren Camron Bettis, Spencer, Hunter, Cooper and Preston Robinson. He is also survived by his brother Edward Robinson and his wife Betty of Eldorado. A visitation for Don was held Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger.
