CK residents can express themselves in virtual community meetings

Chatham-Kent residents can share their thoughts on how municipal services are provided at virtual community meetings in July.
Meetings have been scheduled neighborhood by neighborhood and will be held through the Microsoft Teams platform.
The accounting firm KPMG was retained by Chatham-Kent to help assess the municipality’s current services and see if the services can be delivered more effectively and efficiently within budget and resource capacities, the municipality said. in a press release.
The virtual community meeting schedule is as follows: Ward 1 (West Kent) Tuesday July 13; Ward 2 (South Kent) on Wednesday July 14; Ward 3 (East Kent) Thursday July 15; Ward 4 (North Kent) Tuesday July 20; Ward 5 (Wallaceburg) on ââWednesday July 21; and Ward 6 (Chatham) on Thursday, July 22, 2021. Each will run from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
If residents wish to speak at a meeting, they must register through https://ckwardmeetings.eventbrite.ca by July 9. Each registered participant will have five minutes to speak and provide comments.
For those who do not wish to speak, registration is optional but encouraged to allow KPMG to collect information from registrants and prepare questions for meetings.
Those who want to listen can join the meetings by phone (1-647-794-1236) or by using the Microsoft Teams links available on the municipal website (chatham-kent.ca) under Local Government / News and Press Releases.
