CITY OF KLAMATH FALLS ANNOUNCES CITY DIRECTOR FINALISTS


KLAMATH FALLS, OR – January 7, 2022 Klamath Falls, OR – The town of Klamath Falls has restricted the search for the next city manager to four highly qualified candidates. The four finalists are scheduled to meet with City Council on Thursday, January 20, 2022. The public will have the opportunity to meet the candidates on Wednesday, January 19 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. during a Meet & Greet at The 9th Street Venue , located at 829 Klamath Ave.

The City selected Strategic Government Resources (SGR) to help it conduct in-depth research which resulted in an impressive pool of applicants. SGR is a Keller, Texas-based executive search firm specializing in recruiting, assessing, and developing innovative, collaborative, and genuine leaders for local government.

SGR’s proprietary recruiting and vetting processes have produced a remarkably strong field of applicants. The city received 28 applications from candidates in 17 states, including Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio, Oregon , Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington State and Wyoming.

The finalists are:

Deidre Andrus:

Ms. Andrus has over 15 years of leadership experience in the public service. She is currently the Client Services Manager for Sacramento County, Calif., A position she has held since 2018. She also served as Program Manager, Code Enforcement from 2016 to 2018. Previously, she was a franchisee / operations manager for Subway. in Sacramento, Calif., from 2014 to 2019, and prior to that, she was Customer Service Administrator for King County Metro Transit in Seattle, Washington from 2012 to 2014, and Division Administrator for Seattle and King County Public Health Department, Seattle, Washington, 2010-2012. Deidre holds a master’s degree in public administration from Central Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Seattle University.

David (Dave) Strahl:

Mr. Strahl has over 35 years of experience in municipal administration. He most recently served as Acting Village Director for Schiller Park, Illinois, from 2019 to September 2021. He previously served as City Administrator for the City of O’Fallon, Missouri from 2017 to 2018, and Deputy Director of village for Mount Prospect, Illinois from 1993 to 2016, where he also served as Acting Village Director from 2014 to 2015. David holds a Masters of Public Administration – Urban Management from Northern Illinois University and a BA in Political Science from Manchester College.

Jonathan Teichert:

Mr. Teichert has over 20 years of experience in local and state government. He is currently a city administrator for the city of Douglas, Wyoming, a position he has held since 2018. His previous experience includes serving as a city administrator in Afton, Wyoming from 2016 to 2018, as well as a planner in planning and development. Lincoln County Engineering. , Wyoming, from 2005 to 2016. He holds an MA in Public Administration from the University of Wyoming and a BS in Physical Education from Brigham Young University – Hawaii.

Mark Wood:

Mr. Wood has over 15 years of experience in local government management. He is currently the Deputy General Manager of Colleyville, TX, a position he has held since 2016. Previously, he worked for the City of Flower Mound, TX, as Director of Economic Development from 2011 to 2016, and as that assistant of the city. Manager from 2009 to 2011. Mark holds an MA in Public Administration from the University of North Texas and a BA in Journalism from Texas A&M University.
