Alvin Anthony Gerngross – Runnels County Register
Alvin Anthony Gerngross, 90, died Aug. 30, 2022, at the Matador Health and Rehab Center in Matador, Texas.
Alvin was born on June 17, 1932, to John and Johana “Janie” (Multer) Gerngross, in Olfen, Texas, where he spent most of his life farming and ranching. He was a faithful member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen, where he served as a daily lay minister and choir member. Alvin never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. Alvin could usually be found hanging out with the brothers he never had, Clifford and Dennis. Together they were Alvin’s go-to places for everything, they hunted together and went dancing. He always had a light joke to tell anyone who would listen and share his love of laughter with anyone who crossed his path.
Alvin is predeceased by his parents and close friend, Billie Henderson.
He is survived by his cousin, Warren Multer and his wife Tanya, as well as close friends Alma Hobbs and Joseph Busenlehner. He also leaves to mourn many other close friends and relatives.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Matador Health and Rehabilitation Center and the Interim Hospice for the loving care they provided to Alvin.
